It is also why since 2007 the Tories have been funnelling £10,000s into the constituency including, according to the local Conservative association’s latest published accounts, an unattributed £45,000 interest-free loan from ‘The Conservative Party’. That was 2008. That funding can only have increased in the last two years. What this means on the ground is week after week of glossy multiple page leaflets and huge volumes of direct mail – all dropped on the doorstep by commercial deliverers of course. Apart from the candidate and her paid staff you never see Tories on the ground.
With really dedicated volunteers we are speaking to as many people as we can and getting what we can printed (on our two tone riso!) and out. We reckon we have about 1/5 funds or less than that available to the Tories. Any help you can give will go straight into leaflets and mailings.
