When it comes to offering the best opportunities to young people, our Labour government’s commitment to aspiration and fairness neatly coincides with our political need to show we deserve a fourth term. On investment in the lives of the younger generation we have a very positive track record indeed under Tony Blair and Gordon Brown but that in itself will not motivate people to vote Labour into power again at the general election, even those voting for the first time who have directly benefitted.
