It provides important analysis on developments in different countries that does not appear in a press that carries only superficial coverage of Europe, and further afield. OD also runs some political comments on UK affairs. There is a powerful one on the latest OD site by David Marquand, long a hero. But as he talks of the ‘Blair-Brown regime’ Marquand, while making many points I agree with, relapses into too easily into the DOM syndrome – the Disillusioned Old Man.
