Progress is the New Labour pressure group which aims to promote a radical and progressive politics for the 21st century. Founded in 1996, we are an independent organisation of Labour party members and trade unionists.
Through our national and regional events and regular publications, we seek to promote open debate and discussion of progressive ideas and policies.
Progress is chaired by Stephen Twigg. Our vice chairs are Liz Kendall MP, Bridget Phillipson MP, Rachel Reeves MP, Jonathan Reynolds MP, John Woodcock MP. Progress’ honorary president is Alan Milburn, the former secretary of state for health and former MP for Darlington.
Membership of Progress is open to all members of the Labour party.
