GCSE results

‘We should be proud of the achievements of our young people – and of
Labour’s record on education. Sustained investment, more teachers and
teaching assistants, and the hard work of pupils and school staff mean
more young people are leaving school with good qualifications. Schools
in the poorest areas have seen the biggest rises in results and we are
starting to break the historic link between disadvantage and low
attainment.’ – Ed Balls, secretary of state for children, schools and families

Barnet council

‘Barnet’s “easyCouncil” model will result in two-tier council services
– where you only get quality services if you can pay for them – it’s
inevitable under these circumstances that vulnerable and less well off
residents will lose out.’ – Cllr Alison Moore, leader of Barnet Labour Group

Hannan, Helmer and Tannock’s comments are an insult to 1.4m NHS workers and to those who rely on the NHS

One of the reasons I got involved in politics is the NHS. I saw chronic
under-funding in the late 1980s and the poor and impersonal service my
Grandmother received while dying with cancer. It may not be popular to
say but times have changed and though the NHS is not perfect, it has
improved dramatically under Labour; people forget this.
