Today we are proud to launch our new ProgressOnline website. We’ve revamped the site to make it smarter, cleaner and easier to use, and we hope you like it and continue to come to us for all the latest news and views, especially at this crucial time in British politics.

2010 has already seen our unique visitors treble from the same time last year. Winning exclusive pieces such as Peter Hain’s backing of the Robin Hood Tax, the first cabinet minister to do so publicly, is part of this, but as much so is the participation of our energetic guest writers and columnists, who come from across the UK and include experienced political campaigners, four PPCs, two local councillors, school governors, and trade unionists.

So today we’re pleased to bring you comment from within Labour and the broader progressive coalition. This morning YouGov pollster Peter Kellner wrote exclusively for us on what the opinion polls are pointing to (not something entirely heartening for Labour supporters). Also today we present David Hencke as our new ‘Tory Tracker’ columnist who’ll be monitoring what the other side are up to. He brings enormous experience from his time as the Guardian’s Westminster correspondent, and today he looks at how Conservative Home could become a Trojan Horse for a future Cameron government.

ProgressOnline is also bringing you lots of new features to use on the ground. Check out our ‘100 achievements for 100 days’ countdown to the election for examples of Labour successes that you can raise on the doorstep, from big headline achievements such as the smoking ban and civil partnerships to quieter, but important, ones such as doubling the number of children cycling to school.

Also coming soon is our Campaign Zone where you’ll be able to find out what campaigners are doing across the country, borrow and exchange ideas, and ask our experienced campaign ‘agony aunts’ your questions. Do get in touch with any ideas for new features or articles.
