I have not read the Policy Exchange report in detail but I do not agree that the BBC should not be in the marketplace for sporting rights. I think the addition of Championship and League One and Two football this year has been a very good thing for football, and for the supporters of smaller clubs. I speak as someone whose team is currently in the Premier League but who understands from years of supporting Burnley in lower leagues how much we enjoy watching programmes like the one which follows Match of the Day.
