Warwick and Leamington – that attractive slice of middle England, once represented by Tory PM Anthony Eden – and Labour since 1997. Well, the Tories certainly don’t like the choice the local residents have made in the last three elections – so they are now being treated to expensive wraparounds on the local papers, paid-for opinion pieces from the candidate, glossy magazines, endless target mail, and billboards wherever you look. They are certainly doing their best to flood their way back to the seat that, according to the pundits, would give Cameron his overall majority in the next House of Commons.
We need to expose the reality of Tory policies to residents before they choose. So we aim to use volunteers to distribute leaflets to every household pointing out that our Tory councils are shutting fire stations, cutting back elderly care services, trying to build over our green spaces and axing support services for our ethnic minority residents. Because, oddly, the glossy Tory literature doesn’t mention these things.
You could help us do the work of David against the Tory Goliath. You can help by donating direct to Labour for Warwick and Leamington Spa which will help us to print these leaflets to counter the Tory glossies.
