Europe decides Articles

We need Labour MEPs to drive women’s rights forward

Today I wrote to the women’s officers of constituency Labour parties to remind them
about the importance of the work of Labour MEPs and the Labour
government in achieving political decisions that reflect the needs of
all of our society.

Tory divisions on Europe leave them, and Britain, isolated

Norman Tebbit’s comments urging Tory supporters to abandon their party
at the European elections for the likes of Libertas and UKIP were, on
the one hand, unsurprising – Tebbit has always been unremittingly
hostile to the EU. His comments, and the fact that no sanctions will be
taken against him despite his disloyalty to his party, demonstrate that
the Tory civil war over Europe continues unabated.

A strong voice in Europe, winning the fight for Britain’s future

As Labour’s leader in the European parliament, I have seen how our
decisions can greatly benefit our citizens on a day to day basis and
the benefits that EU trade, co-operation and investment bring for
Britain’s communities and businesses.

Making sense of the Euro-elections

Next month’s elections to the European parliament raise two big
questions: how badly will Labour perform; and will the BNP make a
breakthrough by winning seats?
